Community Day organizers can create event graphics containing common Chinese and Japanese characters with the Open Home Foundation’s asset generator. The change supplies the missing characters and wraps mixed text so a run of Chinese or Japanese writing does not behave like one unbreakable word.
Darren Griffin adds support for common simplified and traditional Chinese characters and Japanese kana. Rarer characters outside the included font subset can still appear as boxes.
