Home Assistant adds an Add to Apple Home button to the Matter device-sharing dialog in its iPhone app. The button opens Apple’s setup flow on the same phone and preserves the device’s Home Assistant name, avoiding a copied code or a QR scan with another device.
The sharing dialog also recognizes when a code is close to expiring and offers a fresh one. The iPhone handoff reads the existing Matter QR information; it does not require a second device to scan the code.
