The ZHA library reads the fan modes advertised by a thermostat instead of assuming every fan offers only Auto and On. Compatible devices can expose low, medium and high speeds and report the selected setting correctly.
A separate fan-only operating mode requires an explicit device-specific opt-in. Having a fan-control interface alone does not establish that the thermostat supports fan-only operation.
