Owners of finished ESPHome products can send a manufacturer’s firmware image over the network without obtaining or recreating its YAML configuration. The upload command accepts the file and the device’s address directly, removing the need to build a dummy configuration just to pass validation.
The uploader reads the usual update port from the image where possible, or accepts an explicit port. Passwords and encryption keys can be supplied separately. This path sends the existing image without compiling it; serial installation and updates through a device’s web server still need their existing workflows.
