Home Assistant OS stops automatically installing and starting Matter Server during onboarding when the host reports less than 1.5 GB of memory. A discovered Matter service is shown for the owner to select instead, with installation progress visible.
The change follows testing on a 1 GB Raspberry Pi 3 where the automatic installation made Home Assistant stop responding. It also covers similarly small virtual machines and other hosts; it does not change the documented 2 GB minimum for Matter Server.
