Z-Wave JS corrects passwords sent to locks implementing the User Credential command class. The driver used the wrong text encoding, so a compliant lock could store something different from the password the owner intended.

Passwords written through the earlier implementation need to be set again. PINs and binary credentials are unaffected. A related correction handles non-ASCII user names using the encoding supported by the lock.
