ESPHome adds live controls for its ESPectre Wi-Fi motion detector. Makers can adjust sensitivity and the number of detections needed to turn motion on or off, change the detection algorithm, and pause sensing through a switch instead of rebuilding firmware for each adjustment.
Francesco Pace brings controls previously offered by the external ESPectre component into the built-in integration. New diagnostic sensors also report how consistently Wi-Fi measurements arrive, helping distinguish a quiet room from poor measurement traffic.
The original limit still applies: Wi-Fi motion sensing cannot reliably establish whether a person who remains still is present.
