Home Assistant adds controls for a computer’s audio devices through System Bridge. The system’s default output gains volume and mute controls and a choice of output, while each output has its own controls. Microphone inputs gain volume and mute settings, with a separate selector for the default input.
The existing media player also gains seeking and volume where the computer reports support. Its source list selects which player to follow, and commands go to that player; this selection resets after a restart. Shuffle and repeat control work on Linux, while Windows can report those settings but cannot change them.
Audio-device support requires System Bridge 5.16.0 or later. Newly connected devices appear as they are discovered, and disconnected ones become unavailable. Per-application volume is outside this addition.
