Music Assistant’s desktop player recovers failed audio outputs instead of keeping an unusable connection. On Windows, the system-default setting resolves to the actual audio device, helping playback recover after an output disconnects and returns.
David Bishop also keeps the player registered while no output is available and adds a retry path for Linux audio-service connections. Saved device identifiers keep the selected output tied to the same device when the list of audio devices changes.
