Future Home Assistant Companion builds require Android 7 or newer, raising the minimum from Android 6. The change matters for older phones and tablets still serving as wall panels: those devices will need a newer operating system or replacement hardware to keep following app updates.
The new minimum follows the requirements of Android’s supporting libraries.
