From Monday, August 24 through Sunday, August 30, four substantial threads stood above the maintenance stream: local energy hardware, multilingual voice, long-form listening and the path into Home Assistant Cloud.
Local inverter support became a wave rather than a one-off. Home Assistant added Modbus paths for Sofar, Fronius and KACO, while SolarEdge grew from its initial local integration into attached meters, batteries and writable select and switch controls. The implementations start at different depths, but together they move more solar data and control onto the local network.
Local voice broadened at the same time. OHF Voice gained lean Speech-to-Phrase grammar blocks for German, Italian, Dutch, Catalan, Spanish, French and Czech. A companion Hassil change replaced its regular-expression prefilter; submitted benchmarks measured matching improvements from 6.5× to 323× depending on language and entity count, rather than promising one universal speedup.
Music Assistant’s week concentrated on long-form listening. Mobile progress can follow audiobook and podcast chapters, CarPlay gained previous and next chapter controls, podcast ordering and played state were corrected across server and frontend, and seeking across Spotify audiobook chapters no longer stops playback.
Home Assistant Cloud’s signup journey also advanced across the Nabu Casa library, Core and frontend. The pieces redesign the login and signup pages, expose confirmation state and prepare background login after someone confirms their email, closing a gap that previously sent people back through the flow manually.
Taken together, they show a week that improved both the open home’s everyday surfaces and the local systems underneath them.
