A home can export more electricity than it imports over an hour and still draw power from the grid during that hour. Home Assistant’s Opower integration uses the utility’s separate import and export readings, where supplied, instead of treating the hour’s net balance as the whole story.

A storage screen separates removable caches and diagnostics from the data the app needs to keep.
Home Assistant’s iOS app adds a way to see what is taking up space and clear individual caches or diagnostic files without resetting the app. Manage Storage, under Settings → Debugging, groups local data by category, sorts it by size or name, and can show only items that are safe to remove.

Makers connecting their own heating or cooling equipment gain a standard climate interface in ESPHome. The new template component forwards commands from Home Assistant to custom actions, so a temperature setting or fan change can reach hardware through the connection a project already uses.
