A lighting scene can look wrong when a command changes color and brightness together. ESPHome restores the information Home Assistant needs to dim compatible lights independently of their color channels when they communicate through MQTT, a messaging protocol used to connect devices.
Missing brightness information made Home Assistant scale the color values instead of sending a separate brightness setting. On lights with red, green, blue and white channels, that could change the white level while leaving overall brightness untouched. Ryan Ronnander reports verifying the correction on 17 BK7231T-based lights.
