People connecting energy meters, solar inverters or heating equipment through Modbus gain a clearer view of their shared connections in Home Assistant. A new panel in Connectivity lists each physical endpoint once and shows the integrations using it, making a shared serial bus or gateway visible in one place.
The panel builds on Home Assistant's shared Modbus connection service and a new connection inventory. Its open-or-closed indicator describes the current link state: devices can close an idle connection and reopen it when an integration next polls. Serial ports carrying Modbus traffic also link through to the panel.
The work advances a roadmap opportunity opened by Matthias Kerstner and approved by Franck Nijhof for a Modbus entry point in Settings. The planned scope is viewing connections and navigating between them; adding, editing and removing connections remain outside this first iteration.
