IFA Berlin is over, and the Open Home Foundation leaves its first appearance as an exhibitor with a lot to be grateful for. The foundation describes the five days as a wonderful experience: a chance to meet the people using and building its projects, spend time together, and make connections that carry beyond the show floor.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to the team that organized the booth, the community meetup and the activities around them. Full-time staff and volunteers made the living-room-style space a welcoming place to stop, sit and talk. The foundation gives special thanks to the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make it happen, and to everyone who came by.
The booth was deliberately not a sales floor: there was nothing to buy and no sales target to meet. That did not make it any less useful for building relationships. The foundation says having a place of its own helped generate many promising leads, alongside the conversations with community members.
The foundation leaves Berlin especially enthusiastic about what those conversations could bring for Works with Home Assistant and Sendspin.
