People building their own weather station have a new reference in ESPHome's device directory: WindNerd Node, a sensor board designed for an open-source, 3D-printed instrument that measures wind speed and direction.
The board comes with ESPHome pre-flashed, and its directory entry links to the maker's configuration for bringing readings into Home Assistant. Spare connections allow experiments with additional sensors, such as a rain gauge. The entry is khbenjamin's first contribution to the device directory, reviewed by Jesse Hills.
