Hikvision camera owners gain a direct way to build Home Assistant automations around what a camera detected. Motion, line-crossing and field-detection events carry human, vehicle or supported pet classifications, so a notification can distinguish a person from passing traffic without reading the camera’s raw event feed.
Paul Tarjan also makes the existing binary sensors show unavailable when the camera’s event stream disconnects. A camera that goes offline during motion no longer leaves an indefinitely active sensor behind. Devices or events without a classification still report a generic detection.
