Music Assistant enables household members to add and manage their own music sources, closing a gap left by the account-sharing controls reported yesterday. Setting up local disk sources stays an administrator’s responsibility because it can read folders on the server.
Playlist owners also gain a Share dialog that chooses who can see a personal Music Assistant playlist and whether those people may add or remove tracks. Members can choose individual people when sharing their music sources, and the app follows their role’s permissions when showing actions.
A related safeguard keeps one person’s listening out of another person’s streaming history. When a listener owns an enabled account for a service, a busy or unavailable account produces an error instead of falling back to a partner’s account. Separate libraries such as local files, Plex and Jellyfin remain shareable.
