Home Assistant’s iOS app adds a guide for understanding how it connects at home and away. Opened from the server’s connection settings or internal-address screen, it explains the internal and external addresses, shows which is in use and checks which requirements the device already meets.
The guide distinguishes an open app from one running in the background and explains how the connection security setting affects the choice. It also corrects the location-permission explanation: Precise Location is needed to read the Wi-Fi network name while the app is open, with Always access additionally needed in the background.
Bruno Pantaleão Gonçalves contributes the screen, making the app’s existing connection rules visible without changing how it chooses an address.
