ESPHome connects kitchen automations to Hob2Hood commands

An infrared receiver can follow an AEG hob’s fan and light requests, while a transmitter can control a compatible hood.

ESPHome adds support for receiving the fan and light commands sent by an AEG induction hob and for sending commands to a compatible kitchen hood. Makers can use those infrared messages in their own device automations.

The feature uses an infrared receiver or transmitter configured in ESPHome. Contributor Mat931 supplies fan and light command handling and examples for turning received commands into sensor states.
